A day of scramble golf, contests, and community — raising funds and awareness for Canadian Blood Services in honor of Angela Buchner.
This tournament is held in memory of Angela, on the anniversary of her passing on August 7, 2024, following complications related to Severe Aplastic Anemia.
Over the course of one year of her illness, she received more than 100 blood and platelet transfusions — each one representing the generosity of donors and the extraordinary efforts of the healthcare system that supported her.
Through this experience, her family came to deeply understand both the life-saving importance of blood donation and the critical need for stem cell donors, where matching through HLA typing can offer patients a second chance at life.
Be the reason someone gets another day.
This tournament converts community engagement into real blood, plasma, and platelet donations that save lives. In partnership with Canadian Blood Services, we inspire participation and long-term donor awareness as demand continues to outpace supply in Canada's healthcare system.
A simple swab can start HLA matching for patients with leukemia and other serious blood disorders, yet far too few people are registered. We use this event to raise awareness of stem cell donation alongside blood and plasma.
Give Together is a student-driven initiative supported by the Seneca Student Federation (SSF), originally founded by Suhana Shrestha and led this year by Ryan Gryffer as Project Manager — uniting sport, community, and social responsibility to create measurable healthcare impact.
